Squirrel Appreciation Day

Today is Squirrel Appreciation Day. It is, apparently, always January 21.

As far as I can tell, there is no Dog Appreciation Day. But I digress...

I do appreciate squirrels. I do.

I love how they scramble when I rocket out the back door. I love how they hold little nuts in their paws. Although it must be said, those darn black walnuts sure hurt when they drop them! I love their furry tails-- except when the fuzz gets stuck in my teeth. Most of all, I love them wrapped in bacon. What's not to love?

So, hip hip hooray for squirrels!

Mark your calendars: February 23 is, I am sure you know,
International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day

  1. How intriguing! I am embarrassed to admit I don't know Chinese. The translation seems to be:

"Trips informal spots, there is King is good"

Perhaps "King" is "squirrel" (though, if it is, I wonder about any place that would think that). Maybe "Trips informal spots" means squirrels like traveling casually to pretty places. Hmm...

I fear it is some sort of spam. I wonder what spam translates to in Chinese?

  2. Spam in Chinese probably translates to Fragrant Flesh of Rectangular Can. Yum!

I'm appalled that I overlooked Squirrel Appreciation Day. Please let me know in the future so I can plan ahead!
